Celebrate Father’s Day at Open Cockpit Day

Museum and event hours: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Open Cockpit Day is one of the museum’s most popular events, offered on three special days each year. During this unique experience, visitors can climb into and view several historic aircraft from the cockpit, getting a rare up-close look at aviation history.

Bring Dad to the museum for a hands-on aviation experience the whole family can enjoy. It is a memorable way to celebrate Father’s Day, explore historic aircraft, and create a story he will be telling long after the weekend is over.

Aircraft available for cockpit viewing include:

A-3 Skywarrior
A-4 Skyhawk
A-6 Intruder
A-7 Corsair
Harrier Jump Jet
T-39 Sabreliner
P-51 Mustang (¾ scale)
Cessna O-2
MiG-15

Visitors may also enjoy a walk-through tour of the
Short Solent Flying Boat for an additional fee.

Open Cockpit Day also features a variety of special exhibits and activities:

Southern Alameda County Radio Controllers aircraft exhibit and flight demonstration

ORCA Ham Radio exhibit and demonstration

Color Guard presentation

Mercedes Car Club exhibit

European Train Enthusiasts exhibit

Live music by The Friends of Ken Band

Alfredo’s Catering offering food and refreshments
