The Oakland Aviation Museum is an extraordinary venue that will make a lasting impression on your guests. Hold your event in one of America's oldest  airplane hangars and enjoy rare aircraft and fascinating aviation exhibits. The hangar is a sophisticated, unique space with spectacular architecture and a hip, industrial feel.

Oakland Aviation Museum has two event spaces available for rent as follows:

  • Hangar Event Space - 4,012 square feet w/ 13' door height
         Maximum capacity 300

Hangar events during open hours of 10:00am to 4:00pm Wed - Sun 

  • $250.00 per hour up to 100 people, 2 hour min.
  • $350.00 per hour over 100 and up  2 hour min.
  • Client to remove all trash, recycling and compost
  • $50.00 per hour set-up time prior to the event (set-up by prior arrangement)

Hangar event during non-business hours of 4:00pm to 10:00pm Wed - Sun, or any time Mon or Tues

  • $350.00 per hour during event up to 100 people (2 hour min.)
  • $450.00 per hour during event over 100 - 200 people ( 2 hour min.)
  • $200.00 After-hours staffing fee (required)
  • Client to remove all trash, recycling and compost
  • $50.00 per hour set-up time prior to the event (set-up by prior arrangement)

Included in the basic rental fee:

  • Use of event space
  • Access to museum exhibits
  • Access to restroom facilities
  • Access to bar counter 
  • Access to kitchen facilities (warming up food only, no cooking allowed)
  • Lined trash receptacles.

Additional services/rental items:

  • Flying boat opening and viewing $200 .00 for 1 hour of open time + docent

  • Parking attendants $50.00 each

  • Event space decorating - price to be determined

  • Man lift is $100.00 per hour, rounded up to the next hour, includes operator
  • 4 patio heaters available at $25.00 each

  • Overflow parking (for over 80 cars) available with attendants

Conditions

  • Food is not allowed in the hangar outside the event area and drinks are not allowed in any exhibit room.
  • Hangar events during business hours (10:00am to 4:00pm) - The public has access to all areas of the Museum during open hours.
  • Caterer is required for all events over 50 guests.
  • Parking attendant is required for all events over 80 guests.
  • All events require a 1 million dollar general liability certificate of insurance with the museum listed as the additional named insured for the date and time of the event.
