Volunteering at OAM

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Oakland Aviation Museum is a small non-profit institution which relies a great deal on the efforts of its dedicated volunteers.  We are currently in need of a few sharp, outgoing individuals to help run our Museum Store, take admissions and generally help our visitors.  If you are a student or maybe looking for a break from the job search grind one day a week and need something current to put on your resume, this may be an ideal opportunity for both you and the museum.

Volunteering at the Oakland Aviation Museum is a rewarding experience and we have many opportunities for a variety of interests. For a list of positions needed and a volunteer application form, please click HERE.

Being on the Board

This year's Annual Membership Meeting was held at the museum on Sunday, October 16, 2011.

Elections were held and as a result, OAM has a great slate of officers dedicated to moving the museum forward in 2012.

Though elections are held annually at the Membership Meetings, all members may nominate people to the Board of Trustees at any time during the year.

All nominations are put before our Board of Trustees for review and further action.  Should the Board feel the nominee would be a good fit and bring valuable skills to the Board, they will contact the nominee for interviews and additional processing.

All nominees must be willing to submit a resume to be reviewed by the Board of Trustees prior to approval for appointment or election.

OAM prides itself on meeting its mission, both in terms of historic preservation, as well as being an inclusive 501(c)(3) non-profit institution.  We encourage all of our members to be an active partner in the bright and exciting future of the Oakland Aviation Museum.
